Thinking about customisation with spray cans? at make it build it we take pride in customising our rides, whether that be cars, trucks, planes, and more. You can find all our favourite spray cans to use like Tamiya Spray Paint which is a synthetic lacquer that dries in a short amount of time, specifically synthesised for covering large surfaces. Each of the Tamiya spray cans contains 100ml of paint which is enough to fully cover 2 or 3 1/24 scale car bodies, also in the Tamiya range there is AS, TS and PS spray.

Customisation can be for any skill levels, if you've had no experience before with spraying surfaces, you can learn in easy steps. First we would consider buying the essentials to get going which is, painters tape, paper towels, hobby knife, paint mask, water-based polyurethane, foam filler, sandpaper, primer, paintbrushes, paint thinner. You can find all these painting accessories at make it build it, after you've got those pieces then we can start the prepping process.

Before anything you need to ensure you have good ventilation space, and your mask on which protects you from breathing in any paint particles in the air. The key to success of spray painting anything is light and even coats, so distance yourself 10-12 inches from the bodyshell or rc model and start spraying then move your hand in even coats applying a smooth motion across the surface. After doing the fist coat with either your tamiya or pro line spray can you then let the paint dry, you will be able to see the information for drying on your chose spray can, most cans will say up to 10 minutes but just check the can first, after this repeat the process until you're happy with your model.

Tamiya spray paints are not affected by acrylic or enamel paints. So following the painting of the entire assembly, details can be added or picked out using enamel and/or acrylic paints. By combining three different paints, the decoration of plastic bodies will become similar and look more professional. At make it build it we pride ourselves in only offering the best paints for you, from the most trusted big brands like tamiya and pro-line, we also stock a range of colours and primers that are available on our store, browse through and find your perfect paints.
