1:8+ Brushless Combos

Larger RC vehicles, like 1/8th, require bigger more robust Brushless ESC and Motor Combos. The motors themselves tend to be longer sizes, have multiple Poles and be rated to run on 3, 4, 6 or even more LiPo cells and thus generate far more Torque and Power as a consequence. The motor shaft is thicker than their 1/10th siblings, and this is to take the additional forces involved with Bashing and Racing 1/8th vehicles, and the Mod 1 or sometimes 32DP gearing used.

Always choose a combo that's designed for the type of vehicle and its intended use. Off Road 1/8th Motors and ESCs will need to be resistant to the elements and able to cope with dirt, debris and moisture. Off Road tends to require Higher Torque and Lower KV Motors, while On Road 1/8th Combos need less Torque, more RPM and thus tend to be Higher KV units. Both types of Motor and ESC Combo will come with a way to program the ESCs parameters, allowing you to adjust the Throttle Curve, Punch settings, Braking parameters like Drag Brakes and some even have an ABS function for use in wet or low grip conditions.
